Carbon‐14 labelled β‐methyl‐iodohexadecanoic acid (MIHA) was obtained in a four step sequence using Na 14 CN, starting from 15‐tetrahydropyranyloxy‐2‐methyl‐pentadecanol‐p‐toluene sulfonate 7 . The specific radioactivity was 55 mCi/mmol and the radiochemical yield 41% of the theoretical maximum.
