In this paper, the author follows up earlier work on the analysis of PID anti‐windup design using a performance bound provided by linear matrix inequalities. The implications of this work for the design of controllers for systems with actuator constraints is discussed. Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
