In this paper, the basic principle that a Perfectly Matched Layer (PML) is viewed as a complex change of variables is applied to curvilinear co‐ordinates. We give a general model based on tensor analysis, which is able to design any shape of PML. Some applications of the model and results of the numerical analysis are presented.
