An Erratum has been published for this article in Archaeological Prospection 7(1) 2000, 59–60. The article deals with the most significant data and information obtained by aerial prospection, geophysical measurement and subsequent archaeological excavation of prehistoric circular ditches (from the neolithic period to the Late Bronze Age) in the Czech Republic. A number of examples feature the advantages of this three‐level research model, particularly in the subject of the so‐called Moravian rondell archaeology . The three‐level research model proved itself to be very efficient in terms of results, cost and time. Copyright © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
