Abstract Aromatic aldehydes or ketones which have electron‐withdrawing groups on the benzene ring were selectively reduced to the corresponding alcohols in good yields by sodium hydrogentelluride; common aldehydes such as benzaldehyde and tolualdehyde were inert.
