Abstract By using a V V ‐ or Mo VI ‐catalyzed two‐phase procedure for oxybromination of organic substrates, adamantylideneadamantane bromonium salts (ADABr + X – ; X – = V V ‐ and Mo VI ‐containing anions) have been isolated and characterized. These salts proved to be significantly more stable relative to the corresponding tribromide derivative.
