The narrow rim of an α‐cyclodextrin has been AD‐capped with a photoactive ruthenium(II) tris(2,2′‐bipyridyl) fragment giving a diastereomeric mixture of complexes that bind 1,4‐benzoquinone in water. Steady‐state and time‐resolved emission studies have been used to probe electron‐transfer processes occurring inside and outside the cavity.
