Microwave irradiation for 15 minutes allowed the highly selective hydrothermal synthesis of the diamagnetic, air‐stable oxidation catalyst [PW 11 O 39 Ru II (DMSO)] 5– , as confirmed by 1 H, 31 P, 99 Ru and 183 W NMR techniques.
