Construction technology education aims to provide students with factual and procedural knowledge about how plant and equipment and operations are sequenced in construction. Visual simulation is a powerful tool which can be used as a platform for delivering construction technology material for educational purposes. It can used to enhance the visual presentation of construction technologies, especially in the classroom environment. This article describes the authors' experiences of using visual simulation as a tool in facilitating different learning models. Future plans for research and developments in the use of visual simulation are presented. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Comput Appl Eng Educ 6: 217–222, 1998
