In this article a multimedia software package used to design analog and digital filters is described. This package runs on an IBM‐compatible PC under Windows and is called WinFiltros. With WinFiltros, students or practicing engineers should be able to complete an analog or digital filter design in a few seconds, giving more attention to what it can be done with a filter instead of getting endless cumbersome numerical calculations. Several examples showing how WinFiltros works are included. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Comput Appl Eng Educ 6: 1–8, 1998
