In this article an efficient procedure is presented for the analysis of statics problems involving conductors and dielectrics of arbitrary shape. The method uses equivalent source models at the conductor–dielectric and dielectric–dielectric interfaces. The interfaces are modeled by planar triangular subdomains. The Helmholtz integral equation is solved via the method of moments (MOM) using pulse basis functions over triangular subdomains to represent the total surface charge distribution. Point matching is used by imposing the potential at the conductors while the electric displacement boundary condition is used at the dielectric–dielectric interfaces to obtain a complete set of equations. The integrations involved in the derivation of the coefficients of the MOM matrix are evaluated analytically.
