A meander slot antenna fed by a strip line is proposed. The length of the slot meander antenna is less than one‐eighth of the effective wavelength, while the radiation pattern is similar to that of conventional microstrip antennas. The resonant and radiation properties of the proposed antennas have been examined, and good agreement between simulated results and measured results is demonstrated. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
