Impulse responses (IRs) in a corridor with and without visibility were measured in UHF. The effects of noise and windowing were considered. A new combined method to filter noise away from the IRs was developed. The effect of different windows in the IR was compared. Windows with lower sidelobe level (SLLs) yield larger rms delays. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 24: 158–162, 2000.
