In this work, a hybrid approach for the synthesis of lossy transmission‐line impedance‐matching sections is presented. The hybrid algorithm is based on a genetic algorithm and controlled random search algorithm. The hybrid algorithm gives better design than the genetic algorithm. ©2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
