Microwave absorbers based on M‐type hexaferrites are studied. Fine powders of the ferrite are dispersed in a polymer, and absorption measurements are carried out at X‐band. A mathematical model for calculating the microwave absorption is developed. The results from the model are compared with experiment. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
