A new type of four‐port, dual‐frequency, and dual‐polarization printed planar antenna is described. As an example of application, a DECTk+DCS 1800/WLAN prototype has been realized and measured. Having the same dimensions as a single SSFIP (strip‐slot‐foam inverted patch) antenna, it allows for polarization diversity over two frequency bands, with four independent ports providing a good isolation. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
