The analysis and synthesis of conformal printed antennas on ellipsoidal structures are investigated. The originality comes from the use of a computer algebra system to generate the polynomial expression of the zeros of the characteristic equations. Fast and accurate expressions for the resonance frequency are given for an ellipsoidal radiating element operating in the TM 10 mode. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
