A new type of dual‐port, dual‐frequency SSFIP/PIFA antenna is described. Its main characteristics are a wide bandwidth at both frequencies, high isolation between ports, and simple construction, together with good radiation properties. As an example of application, a DECT+DCS 1800/WLAN antenna has been realized, and is described in detail with measured data. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 22: 373–378, 1999
