The task of matching real and complex loads, for applications in the RF, microwave, and optoelectronic areas, is addressed here. Four three‐element true‐bandpass LC networks, forming a family capable of matching any kind of real and first‐order reactively constrained loads, are presented and discussed. A set of Q‐based conjugate‐matched design equations is derived, yielding respective exact solutions to these circuits. A comparison with a partial previously described approximate solution is carried out. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 22: 331–335, 1999.
