Recently, the PSTD method has been introduced for solving Maxwell's equation. It entails an FFT to perform spatial derivatives, and therefore requires substantially fewer sample points per linear wavelength as compared to the conventional finite‐difference method. In this paper, we show how this method can be implemented with an unsplit‐field PML ABC. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 22: 278–283, 1999.
