We have proposed a novel asymmetric X ‐junction, called the truncated‐structural X ‐branch (TSXB), which quadruples the full‐branching angle (0.3–1.2°) compared to a conventional junction at −17 dB crosstalk and 75% power transmission to the “straight” port. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
