This letter presents an alternative technique for calibrating one‐path network analyzers. The technique reduces cost, but retains accuracy when compared with the existing one. Experimental results not only validate this technique, but also indicate that a simplified calibration for transmission measurement is normally acceptable. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
