A novel iterative method for the solution of large systems of linear equations in analyzing large finite phased arrays is proposed. Avoiding the calculation of large matrices and giving a good approximation of the currents initially this iterative algorithm shows an excellent convergence. A computational example is presented to illustrate its high efficiency. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 21: 44–46, 1999.
