A novel multilayered printed antenna suitable for integration on high dielectric constant material is presented. The antenna has higher surface wave efficiency, larger bandwidth, and greater gain than a conventional microstrip patch. A comparison between theoretical and experimental impedance and radiation performance is given. Very good agreement is achieved. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
