Two four‐element linear aperture‐coupled cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna arrays have been theoretically modeled and experimentally implemented. The arrays produced broadside radiation shaping the E ‐ and H ‐plane, respectively. The resonant frequency, return loss, radiation pattern, gain, unloaded Q ‐factor, and impedance bandwidth of the arrays have been measured. Overall, good agreement was obtained between theory and experiment. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 20: 151–153, 1999.
