An extension of Berenger's perfectly matched layer (PML) absorbing boundary conditions to match bianisotropic media is formulated. The method is enclosed within a simple algebraic procedure, and validated with the finite‐difference time‐domain method. ©1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 20: 44–48, 1999.
