In this letter, we propose a new concept for a self‐switched time shifter. The structure is theoretically investigated by means of an analytical approach and computer simulation. The electrical performances of the proposed configuration are compared with those of a conventional single‐pole double‐throw switches time shifter. The new concept allows a considerable size reduction. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 19: 15–20, 1998.
