This paper is a presentation of the coupling between the finite‐difference time‐domain method and a circuit simulator tool. This approach enables us to model the interactions between antennas and nonlinear integrated circuits. The behavior of a “Mickey” antenna struck by a high‐frequency impulsion and protected by a gas arrester will be shown. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 18: 108–112, 1998.
