The proposed radio telescopes meet the modern radio‐astronomy requirements of attaining high‐resolution maps of large regions of the sky at many frequency bands simultaneously. The proposed radio telescopes can yield high spatial resolution maps of 10 closely spaced fields of view or 100 widely spaced fields of view at several frequency bands simultaneously, and unintentional jammers can be excised at the frequency or spatial domains. The same radio telescopes are suitable for searches for extraterrestrial intelligence and for observations of variable sources. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
