Resonances of scattering caused by the “interaction” of two modes of oscillations excited at the same frequency have been revealed and studied in a structure formed by a slotted thin cylinder with another slotted cylinder inside as an interior loading. It has been shown that such resonances have high‐ Q factors, and are extremely sensitive to small changes of parameters of the scatterers. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
