The design of a CPW loop bandpass filter is presented in this paper. The measured results have a high dependence on the bond wires used to connect the ground plane patches. Passband insertion loss is observed to increase significantly with no bond wires. Near maximally flat response is measured with a minimum number of bond wires, but with less attenuation in the rejection bands. The parasitic passband is very attenuated compared to the simulated result. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 16: 4–7, 1997.
