A feasibility study for the design of high‐Q MMIC filters, with the use of ring reasonator structures with loss compensation, is presented. The design of a Ku‐band tunable MMIC bandpass filter, currently under fabrication, is given. Simulation results predict unloaded Q factors of 1000 over 1‐GHz tuning bandwidth. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 15: 230‐233, 1997
