Inductively and capacitively end‐coupled quarter‐wavelength‐resonator bandpass CPW filters are introduced. For a given bandwidth and passband shape, the new filters have a smaller size, wider upper stop band and looser coupling between resonators than end‐coupled half‐wavelength‐resonator CPW filters. The design of two filters with 5% and 50% bandwidth at 10 GHz is presented. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 15: 29–33, 1997.
