Characteristics of cylindrical coplanar waveguides (CPWs) are analyzed with the use of a conformal mapping technique, in which quasistatic solutions of the effective relative permittivity and characteristic impedance of the cylindrical CPW are derived and calculated. Inside and outside cylindrical CPWs are studied, and curvature effects on the characteristics of CPWs are discussed. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 14: 347–351, 1997.
