A procedure for the generation of ideal voltage source models whose effective generator impedances are matched to the transmission lines they drive is presented. These matched source models offer improvement over existing ideal voltage source models for the computation of driving point impedances. The validity of this technique is established both analytically and experimentally. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 14, 94–99, 1997
