A very efficient yet rigorous analysis of a magnetic dipole is presented. It is based on the well‐known moment method (MM) and can be used for the analysis of single elements and arrays as well. The input impedance and the radiation characteristics of the antenna have been calculated. An analytical way to evaluate the infinite integrals involved with the moment method has been found, resulting in a great reduction of computer time. The results computed by using the presented theory show very good convergence. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
