A planar array consisting of four rows and eight columns (4 × 8) has been designed and developed. A printed circuit tapered slot antenna was used as an element. The array is integrated by a special technique with semiregid cables, as the availability of space is highly limited. The array is excited uniformly and the performances, namely, return loss and radiation patterns over the X and Ka bands, have been measured. The results are presented. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
