This article details the performance of a Ka‐band oscillator under the influence of an external injection‐locking signal used for direct phase shift keying of a microwave signal. The results obtained indicate that it is possible to obtain at least 100° of phase change for a PHEMT MMIC oscillator operating in reflection‐locked mode. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
