The radiation from two different broadside dielectric resonator antenna arrays, shaping the Eθ and Eϕ field components, has been theoretically modeled and experimentally verified. The gains of the two arrays have been increased by factors of 2.6 and 1.6, respectively, compared with the gain of a single DRA. However, the impedance bandwidth has been reduced by a factor of 2.3 with respect to the bandwidth of a single DRA. Good agreement exists between the theoretical and experimental results. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
