In this article the generalized multipole technique (GMT) is combined with the conventional moment method (MoM). This hybrid approach improves GMT results while it reduces the computational cost with respect to MoM techniques. Some results for two‐dimensional TE and TM problems demonstrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed method. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
