The radiation characteristics of a parabolic cylindrical reflector antenna fed by a linear microstrip patch array operated at Ku band are studied. Cavity model and physical optics approximations are used to analyze the patch array and the induced currents on the reflector surface, respectively. Radiation patterns are obtained by integrating the induced currents over the reflector surface. An experiment is carried out to verify the theoretical findings. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
