We present the angular scanning behavior of a spatial filtering array (SFA) to steer the main lobe of an antenna. In this method the SFA is tilted at various angles about a vertical axis in front of a fixed antenna. This method gives −3‐dB beam steering from ∼−15° to ∼15° for a SFA tilt range from ∼−10° to ∼10°. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
