In this article, a compact formulation is given for the effective material parameters of mixtures with general electromagnetic response. The inclusions within the mixture are spherical in shape and bianisotropic in their material character. Six‐vector analysis is used, which leads to a compact expression of the final result: a generalized Rayleigh mixing formula. © 1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
