The coupling coefficient in TE 01 δ mode between two‐layered dielectric resonators in suspended substrate is presented in this article. By introducing coupling between two dielectric resonators through the dielectric substrate, an analytical formulation for the coupling coefficient is developed. Theoretical data presented in this article show that off‐layered dielectric resonators offer important size reduction for both tight and weak coupling. ©1996 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
