This study utilizes different types of bisphenol monomers instead of bisphenol‐A to synthesize phenol terminated polydimethylsiloxane‐polycarbonate block copolymers. The copolymers were synthesized by interfacial phosgenation of α, ω‐phenol‐organofunctional polydimethylsiloxane oligomer with various aromatic dihydroxyl monomers. In addition, the thermal properties, flammability, and mechanical properties of the synthesized copolymers after extrusion and injection molding were investigated. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
