The free‐radical copolymerization of 2‐hydroxyethyl methacrylate, 2‐hydroxypropyl methacrylate, and 3‐chloro‐2‐hydroxypropyl methacrylate with acrylamide and methacrylamide was investigated. The reactivity ratios of the monomers were determined by the Fineman‐Ross and Kelen‐Tüdös methods. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci 64: 1259–1265, 1997
