Previous neuroanatomic studies have demonstrated that branches of the dorsal nerve of the penis (DNP) innervate the anterior urethra. This study utilized electrodiagnostic techniques to confirm this finding. Electrical stimulation of the urethra resulted in responses recorded in the main trunk of the DNP, and responses were recorded from the urethra following stimulation of the DNP. A bulbocavernosus reflex was evoked after urethral stimulation. Urethral afferent impulses have a role in reflex ejaculatory function. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Muscle Nerve 21:514–518, 1998.
