The colour centres S 3 − in ultramarine blue have been studied by EPR. Measurements of the temperature dependence of the linewidth have shown that the linewidth can be approximated by the formula: Δ B pp = a + bT 7 , which according to the Kronig's theory is describing the two‐phonon Raman process of the transfer of energy to the vibrations of the lattice.
