An array of one‐ and two‐dimensional NMRtechniques (APT, DEPT, COSY, NOESY, HMQC and HMBC) was usedto achieve the structural elucidation of some natural benzofuranoidand hydrofuran neolignans isolated from Licaria chrysophylla , L . armeniaca , L . aurea and Nectandraglabrescens fruits. The combination of homo‐ andheteronuclear NMR data was used to obtain the 1 H and 13 C chemical shift assignments of these neolignans. ©1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
