A review of 2D correlation NMR spectroscopy is presented which excludes the standard cases of 1 H, 1 H, 13 C, 1 H, 15 N, 1 H and 13 C, 13 C applications. Instead, emphasis is laid on the inclusion of seldom used heteronuclei. 1 H,X, X,X and X,Y correlations are summarized, the dominant experimental techniques are described and the chemical applications of these 2D correlations are outlined.
